Thanks to the improvement of working conditions, staff will benefit from a language that will improve senior-based planning. In addition, members now have an appeal and arbitration procedure to enforce their rights and the provisions of their agreement. Congratulations to the members for Paramed on their first agreement. I would also like to thank the members of the Union`s negotiating committee. You were Debbie Charon, Ashley Haelzle, Tracey Killingbeck, Glenda McKenzie and Steve Springall. The three-year contract includes 90 full-time nurses and 82 part-time registries (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) at two Paramed sites in Kitchener and Cambridge. In addition, at Paramed, nurses can choose which of the three health plan options they participate in, and the premiums for those plans remain the same as before. Workers benefit from an improvement in the right to leave, for a maximum period of five weeks, which is paid at 10%. RPNs receive an initial salary increase of up to 70 cents per hour. NPR increases amount to up to $2.10 per hour over the term of the contract. Initially, RNs receive up to $1.10 per hour and up to $3.30 per hour over the duration of the agreement. .
