Educational assistants from the Hanover School Department (members of the Education, Service and Health Union, CLAC Local 306) ratified a new five-year collective agreement on Thursday 5 November 2015. Highlights of the agreement include annual salary increases, increases in training pay premiums and the provision of additional paid sick days. The agreement also contains improvements to the leave pay formula and criteria for bereavement, medical and personal discharges. The five-year contract expires retroactively on September 1, 2014 and expires on August 31, 2019.
